Weather warning
MetService has warned "unstable" weather conditions are expected over the next 48 hours, with a risk of thunderstorms and hail in the top of the south.
Nelson, Marlborough and Wairarapa could experience rainfall up to 25 millimetres per hour and 15mm hailstones from Wednesday afternoon as slow-moving, localised storms hit those regions.
