It comes after Transport Minister Michael Wood last month announced the Government's proposal to drop speed limits to 30 kmh outside urban schools and a maximum of 60 kmh outside rural schools.
Rees said many Swannanoa pupils were “horrified” to hear the speed limit was so high around their school and that any potential changes may not happen until 2029.
Submissions on the proposed changes can be made online at www.nzta.govt.nz... or by emailing rules@nzta.govt.nz until June 25.

The Press has teamed up with the Rod Donald Banks Peninsula Trust on its Te Ahu Pātiki project, to help raise enough money to buy a 500-hectare block between Mt Herbert and Mt Bradley.
The aim is to make sure the public will always have access to a sprawling network of popular walking tracks, and to let the whole block return to native bush.
A Givealittle page was launched this morning to help the trust overcome its last hurdle. Click the links below to read the full story and donate.

It's a good, reliable and may I say economical car, but as we are now semi-retired its time to think about a smaller vehicle. We are asking $15,650 for it, but all reasonable offers will be considered. So don't be shy, send a text or reply if you are interested. By the way, the seat covers can be included as well (but not the Teddy bear hanging off the mirror!) :)
Thanks to all, Lynda

That’s not to say it necessarily agreed with the appalling comments – many of them openly said that they didn’t. Rather they just didn’t think cancelling the brewery was justified. Especially after Eagle Brewing owner Dave Gaughan’s apology.
The disgusting, heartbreaking part of all this is that cancel culture used to be called boycotting. Boycotting was one of few effective weapons of the genuinely disenfranchised. It was the furious, white-hot fire that forged real revolutions from Rosa Parks to Gandhi.
Until we stole it. We took it off the streets, into the wine bars, and disembowelled it. Ripped out its heart and teeth. Death by gentrification. Gaughan’s not the only one who should apologise.
