Kura Pounamu: Our Treasured Stone and Passengers are on until 11 June.
Kura Pounamu tells the story of hundreds of years of Māori innovation and spirituality with pounamu – New Zealand greenstone.
“Kura Pounamu is a wonderful exhibition that has toured extensively, including overseas to China and Europe,” says Pātaka Director Ana Sciascia.
Meanwhile, Passengers features two bodies of sculptural work by artist Vicki Fanning. It steers technology, history and abstraction into ethereal bodies of glass.
“Although visually different, both exhibitions play with the inherent qualities of glass, and what those qualities can hold and deliver,” says Fanning.

Then I was introduced to a Graeme Dingle Foundation programme for young people that need a boost in life. It helped me build my self-confidence and social skills. We were paired with a mentor, my mentor Tony believed in me like no one else. Because of him I stayed in school, went to university and now have a full time job.

They now also breed outside of Zealandia, and are seen throughout the city. These clever parrots are such entertainers, and are a photographers dream.?

Through the programme, he discovered his passion for the viticulture industry and was able to secure a cadetship opportunity with the help of his mentors and programme coordinator.
Now, almost six months into his job, he feels more confident and is grateful for the support he has received. Jack encourages other young people if given the opportunity to take the course and give things a go.
