This event will acknowledge the hardships that have befallen NZ and Australia in the past year. During the evening Rosalie the Thames Storyteller will tell the story of "Crossing the Waihou" and the events leading up to the bridge's construction in 1928. The bridge has proved hugely popular with Thames people over the last few weeks while it has been open for the use of riders in the Tour Aotearoa Cycling Challenge, for walking, cycling, photography shots and more. As well, on Saturday morning Rosalie, the Thames Storyteller, will tell a series of short stories covering Thames history from 1867 to 1886. Merv Tilsley will give free guided tours of the museum and there will be museum-discovery activities for children. The museum is open 10am-3pm.
