We're upgrading the Paraparaumu stormwater network
January marks the start of a major upgrade of the Paraparaumu stormwater network. We’re installing a larger stormwater pipe in stages from Iver Trask Place to part way along Amohia Street. This is part of our plan to reduce flooding in the Amohia and Ruahine street catchment areas, and help prepare our district to live with more water due to climate change.
Beginning in Iver Trask Place, work will progress from the Wharemaukū Stream outfall to Rimu Road, then along towards Kāpiti Road and Amohia Street.
Traffic management will be in place around the work area. For more information, visit www.kapiticoast.govt.nz...
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
