Is it safe to swim?

The Team from Kāpiti Coast District Council

Water quality in Kāpiti's rivers and at our beaches is generally pretty good over summer, but there’s a few things to think about before you jump in.

– wait 2–3 days after rain before swimming, and avoid river mouths and stormwater outlets on our beaches
– keep an eye out for toxic algae during summer, dogs are particularly at risk while scavenging at the river’s edge.

And make sure you do summer right by checking if your favourite swimming spots are safe for swimming 👉🏼 www.lawa.org.nz...
