COVID-19 and the winter flu continue to impact our ability to provide services with staff needing to isolate at home. Our Council team is being as agile as it can but from tomorrow (Wednesday 21 July):

• Waikanae Service Centre will close for at least a week
• From Monday, the Waikanae Library will close for a week

We acknowledge that any reduction in service is not ideal, but we are doing the best we can in what is a challenging situation.

Service requests are when someone in our community asks us to get something done. We manage hundreds of requests a day on all kinds of things. Our teams responded to 13,035 regulatory-related service requests alone in the 2020/21 financial year.☎️📨📱

Some things we can get sorted, like a blocked drain, a building query, graffiti or a pooch on the loose. And some things we can’t – like a plane flying over your house in the afternoon (yes, we really got a request to stop planes flying over someone’s home). ✈️ 🏡

Beef, ordered from here

McDonald's

For delicious grass-raised beef New Zealand is the perfect combo.

An ideal climate, lush pastures and innovative farming produces enough beef for Macca’s in New Zealand and around the world. Our patties are 100% quality beef, and all that’s added is a dash of salt and pepper when cooked.

"Bucket List! I'd never photographed the wandering albatross previously. Today I photographed a few. The adult here is the smaller of the two birds, and is apparently 35. The younger albatross is around 18 years old. Totally thrilled with this pic, as we had a big swell out there today."
