Local Elections 2022 - Voting papers arriving from today
If you’re enrolled, your voting papers for this year’s local election should start arriving from today. We use the STV electoral system. It’s easy – remember it’s a number not a tick. You don’t need to number every box, just the candidates you prefer in the order you prefer.
To be counted, all completed voting documents must be in the hands of the electoral officer or an electoral official by noon Saturday 8 October 2022.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
