Local Elections 2022 - #CrashCourseInCouncil
Next up in our #CrashCourseInCouncil, we level up on service requestsđ
Service requests are when someone in our community asks us to get something done. We manage hundreds of requests a day on all kinds of things. Our teams responded to 13,035 regulatory-related service requests alone in the 2020/21 financial year.âď¸đ¨đą
Some things we can get sorted, like a blocked drain, a building query, graffiti or a pooch on the loose. And some things we canât â like a plane flying over your house in the afternoon (yes, we really got a request to stop planes flying over someoneâs home). âď¸ đĄ

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens arenât seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days â the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, whoâs made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
