It does require a strategic approach which would include applying for funding from KCDC. These types of funds are often available for application very early in the new year. I would be happy to be involved - as long as my role was ONLY in planning. I really do have a big Kapiti Project on the go and my time is limited.
A couple of us are going to meet up late this Sunday 13th morning to discuss the bones. Can you and anyone else interested PM me and let's see who would love to join in for such a fabulous project.
We need the doers, the thinkers and people who have marketing experience. A couple of people who would like to learn how to make an application for funding to council. Is there a scribe? Someone who can take notes and keep diary who has the skill set to remind people that have a deadline. Would you like to join and work on a specific role with a buddy? This is a fantastic opportunity to use your CV/prior work experience and an incredible opportunity to learn a new skill. Eg have you ever wanted to learn project management? or learn how to make an elf's costume? ALL skills/experience from being involved can go onto your CV, and don't forget the social comradery that will develop as we go on.
I hope these are some ideas that might inspire you get involved for the 2021 Kapiti Christmas Parade. I can commit to having a meeting in a coffee shop or at mine on this coming Sunday 13th as a starter. Please PM me with your interest. Lynette.

Gurunathan wrote to Jacinda Ardern on Tuesday, asking the Government for a commitment over the future of the embattled airport.
In his letter, Gurunathan referred to a 2005 incident in which a charted plane with Clark onboard landed at the Paraparaumu airport, a 45-minute drive north of Wellington, after a door opened mid-flight.
He said the incident emphasised the airport's importance as an alternative to Wellington Airport in emergencies.
