This amazing team collects blankets and other winter warmth to distribute to children and their families in Auckland.

If you’ve got any new or good quality preloved blankets, duvets, sleeping bags and sheets and bedding or any new children’s pyjamas, thermals, socks, woollen hats, pillows or hot water bottles please drop them off at 2 Harrison Road between 8.30am and 3.30pm weekdays.

Collection runs to 22 July. If you’re wondering what they need most, it’s single and queen duvets and covers. Thanks in advance for your kindness.

Workshop 30th June 1 – 4 pm at the Anglican Church Hall, 43 Queen St., Pukekohe
This workshop encourages people to look at their ability to be supportive and empathise with sexual abuse survivors.

It is an opportunity to develop strategies helpful in relating to sexual abuse survivors to aid their recovery. It also aims to change beliefs and bring about social change within a community. This workshop is suitable for any member of the public who wishes to better engage with sexual abuse survivors. It is also suitable for health professionals, government agencies and community groups. Entry is by Koha (give what you can afford), afternoon tea provided. Book early, numbers limited.

The workshop is facilitated by Ciaran Torrington, an ACC registered sexual abuse therapist and assessor, she works in communities to develop grassroots strategies to reduce harm and build social support for sexual abuse survivors which is essential for recovery.
Terri Stout the speaker, was a registered psychiatric nurse and has a passion for addressing the impact of sexual trauma on reproductive health.

Aucklanders who sneak onto public transport without paying now face a hefty fine if caught, as new rules come into force this week. Instant fines of $150 will be issued to passengers who don't carry tickets. If they contest it in the courts, that could rise to $500.

Changes to the Land Transport Act provides powers to transport officers on Auckland's public transport network, and regulations, which came into force yesterday, enable the issue of infringement notices.

We are excited to announce that the construction of five new apartments at Acacia Cove Village is well underway. This is going to be an interesting journey and we're sure the residents and staff will keep a close eye on the development.

There will be three apartments on the ground floor, consisting of two bedrooms each. Upstairs will feature two apartments with three bedrooms each. They will be north-facing which will make them nice and sunny. If all goes well construction should be completed in early 2019.
