In 2014 I spent a day in Petone & Wellington with an architect taking photos for a book she was writing. I was intrigued by what I spied behind a second floor window in Petone. The curtain was pulled back to exhibit a pair of knickers. I couldn't resist the urge to photograph the scene even though it was probably not relevant to architecture. My mind was suggesting to me there was a message involved. What would you have thought?

"Confessions from a Heritage Architect" is the title of a 2017 book by New Zealand architect Mona Quinn, which features photographs and stories about New Zealand's character homes, specifically villas and bungalows. Content: The book includes interviews and stories from the owners of the villas and bungalows visited during their trips.
Author: Mona Quinn, a heritage architect in New Zealand.
Collaborator: Photographer Paul Knight.
Theme: The book is about preserving and appreciating New Zealand's character homes, particularly villas and bungalows.
Related work: Quinn's work also includes restoring heritage houses and adding modern elements to heritage homes, like an Arts and Crafts house in Hataitai.

Water has been leaking into the garage and after removing the garden soil that had built up outside I have temporarily lined it with plastic (with drainage holes) but need to cover this in stones to keep it all in place until I can get a professional plumber to do it properly. The stones need to be of a size I can lift with ease. Ideally, if anyone has a 3 -4 meter off cut of 100 mm Nova Coil lying around their property that would be better than the plastic bags. I have tried to buy this from suppliers but they only sell complete rolls. Thank you.
