The incident happened at around 10.40pm on Severn Street.

Following the crash the vehicle involved failed to stop. Police would like to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a dark coloured older sedan travelling at speed.
If you have information that may lead to the identification of the vehicle described or if you were in the area at the time of the incident please call Oamaru Police on 03 433 1400. Information can also be shared anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The notice says Jimmy's Pies Ltd is recalling specific batches of its Jimmy's brand mince pie and its mince and cheese pie because of the presence of an undeclared ingredient: monosodium glutamate (MSG).
The company had been contacted by a man's wife after he had an allergic reaction after eating a pie and had to be resuscitated after it caused breath issues about two weeks ago. "Everything is OK. He is OK."
The affected batches are all numbers up to 8250, and batches after 8253 are not affected by the recall.
The ministry statement says: "If you have consumed this product and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice. If you are not allergic or intolerant to MSG, this recall does not affect you." Read more here
