I am just wondering how many of you would have had relatives generations back who gave their lives in the 1st. World War in particular.? (The second W.W. obviously is loser to our memories as are some of the others.) However as you may have seen on previous posts from June Wyatt from Te Aroha, a fundraising celebration is being held on the 28th.October on the Te Aroha Domain, where stall holders will be selling their wares, Military will be present, raffles held, games for children music songs and dancing and a War re-enactment will take place. Then in the evening at the RSA a fabulous evening of buffet meal and dancing. The Peace Memorial was dedicated on October 24th in 1926 to a listed historic building to remember those who died for us in the 1st World War. We meet on ANZAC Day, crowds in every town, and as the trumpet rings in our ears we say.."We will remember them "I'm inviting all who reads this from Te Aroha and all the towns who belong to the Neighbourly Site please come along and support this auspicious occasion., starting at 10am until 4pm. Please copy and paste this to your Facebook page, and tell your friends and families. But I also ask you now, to pray for Peace, for Israel and all those affected in this dreadful war. As we think back to the previous wars and the loss of life and destruction, we don't want more evil to add to the sadness of we already have and to stand once more and say 'We will remember them". Thank you for reading this.

Kelvyn Eglinton reflects on this time as CEO of Momentum Waikato...

As the Waikato Regional Theatre rises out of the ground, the regional endowment fund approaches $44million while supporting an ever-growing range of causes, and Tirohanga Houchen Wellbeing Space begins delivering services to the community, I have been asked to reflect on which of Momentum Waikato’s achievements I am most proud of from my six years as its CEO.

My sense of satisfaction is not simply about the specific projects. It comes from seeing what is possible when a whole bunch of people are mobilised by the belief that philanthropy done differently can create real positive change for our community.

Tamahere Community Committee has launched a new website to provide the residents and ratepayers with a direct link to its elected committee and a channel for information and communications.

You are invited to join the mailing list - you will receive one email before each TCC monthly meeting (agenda) so you know what is happening and a second email after each monthly meeting (minutes) with info on what was discussed/decided. The mailing list also means you can be notified of any issue that impacts on you or for you to comment on if you wish (maybe 3 or 4 issues each year).

TCC meetings are open to the public so any one can attend and have a say.
