Date: Tuesday 12 February, at 7.30 pm.
Venue: Alicetown Community Centre, 38 Victoria Street, Alicetown, Lower Hutt.
We will show and talk about this documentary in two one-hour segments, over two consecutive Tuesdays (12 and 19 February)
This documentary shows beautiful solutions adopted by communities across a number of countries to some of the problems of industrial agriculture, fossil fuel consumption, and social and environmental degradation which have created our current climate emergency, and are rapidly putting the health and wellbeing of ourselves and all other species at risk.
The two halves of the documentary do not depend on each other – they just show different solutions to different parts of the problem. So, if you can only make one of the two evenings, you won’t be missing key arguments or threads, just some of the wonderful solutions shown.
You can see the official trailer for the documentary at www.youtube.com.......
And you can indicate your interest or attendance on our Facebook page www.facebook.com......
Come along watch the film, share the group discussion and have a cup of tea and a biscuit.
Any questions please phone Juanita McKenzie on 021422542.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day “right” is a source of stress for many couples.
All of this marketing has made us feel that we suddenly need to conjure bouquets of roses, diamond rings, and “steak dinner with extra shrimp!”
I believe that the best gift you can give your partner is a happy, healthy, and fulfilling relationship.
To help you do so, download the free app Gottman Card Deck, cuddle up on the couch with the Gottman Love Map and Open Ended Question Card Deck.
If you wish to do something special, that’s fine too! Most importantly: relax. This is the first step to enjoying the day. High expectations on Valentine’s Day are a source of conflict in many relationships, so if you wish to celebrate, do it in a way that is comfortable for both you and your partner.
Valentine’s Day should not have you automatically reaching for your wallet – it should be a time to celebrate love with your partner. There’s no price tag on that.

There's nothing worse than a soggy sammy. The trick to keeping kids interested in eating their lunch (and stopping yourself getting bored making it) is mixing it up with variations on a theme that you know they already love.

So instead of a plain ham and cheese sandwich on sliced bread, try folding slices of ham and cheese into wedges of crunchy baguette or a soft bap. Save time and stress by using Mainland’s convenient sliced cheese – available in Edam, Tasty, Colby and Swiss to suit your family’s taste.

Head to mainland.co.nz for some quick and easy cheesy ideas.
