Are we not worth educating?
I have only recently found this fascinating 2017 post that has vital information for Hauraki Plains and all connected rate payers. Yes, even communities on the eastern side of the ranges will almost certainly pay increased taxes to help save the plains and keep highway 25 open. That this information has not been much more publicised in local media is disgraceful. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
