Franklin Silver Lining Trust marks 10 years supporting the community
A home-grown charity created by locals for locals facing times of strife and struggle is this month celebrating its 10th year.
In March 2008, the Franklin Silver Lining Trust was formally launched, and since then has helped bring a little relief and time out - a 'silver lining' to hundreds in our communities doing it tough.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
