Reducing stigma starts with the words we use, and shifting the way we talk about dementia is a powerful step forward. This World Alzheimer’s Month, Ryman is highlighting the importance of reducing the discrimination caused by stigma surrounding people living with dementia.

Caroline Bartle, Ryman’s Dementia Care and Innovations Lead, says that using appropriate language when referring to people with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia can foster a more inclusive society. This not only benefits those experiencing cognitive decline but also their families and the wider community.

If you've suffered an injury or are recovering from surgery or an illness, doing rehab from your physio/chiropractor/osteopath or doctor is likely to be part of the process.

Rehab is important to help us regain our strength and independence and get back to normal activities again.

It takes effort and time and it needs to be done correctly.

But it's worth it and is an investment.

People have varying experiences in their rehab journeys. I often hear people say this about rehab:
* it's boring
* it's painful
* it's difficult to get motivated
* they struggle to find time to rehab
* they could make more of an effort
* they don't really know what they're doing
* they're struggling to get enough support or guidance
* they're disheartened because they're not seeing results

If you're struggling to stick to your rehab routine, I can help!

* I can make rehab fun and a little less arduous
* I help clients to show up for their rehab sessions
* I give guidance on prescribed rehab moves/exercises
* I can offer a different perspective if someone is struggling with their progress

I work with clients in Hastings and Havelock and I can come to you.
Men and women, all ages.

To book a session with me or if you'd like to find out more about what I offer, please DM me. I look forward to hearing from you!

We invite you to join us in celebrating our 10-year birthday on Saturday 5th of October from 10am - 2pm at The Old Netball Courts 707 Sylvan Rd, Parkvale Hastings

In addition to the display of coffins, ash boxes for the Hastings Crematorium, and baby coffins, there will be a free sausage sizzle, savouries, tea and coffee, fresh water, and fizzy drinks.

Along with the public, some of our guests are, Mayor Sandra Hazlehurst, local Funeral Directors, Pubs Charity, HDC Councilors, staff from Ati Rangi Maternity Hospital and a reporter from Hawke's Bay Today.
The Remote Control Car Club and Pickleball Club who share the facility will also be operating.

Over the past 10 years, we have provided numerous coffins and baby coffins for the community, but we couldn't have done it without the support of our local community and businesses.

Our club day is every Tuesday 9am - 12 noon. We are a friendly bunch, as you will see when you come along on Saturday.

Please do come and visit us, we would love to see you. Let's celebrate and let us show you that we are an affordable option for underground furniture. Reasonable prices and made with love.

We are a local club supporting our community, so do come to look around our facilities.
