I got a surprise to see that it had gone up from $5.72 to $5.96. However, when it was scanned at the checkout I was charged $6.06. I was confused and thought I had got the price wrong so went back to check, sure enough the shelf price was $5.96. When making a complaint with the supervisor I was offered a refund of the error difference, but I said this was not right. She then refunded the full amount and told me to keep the milk. If you are concerned about your grocery bill it pays to check and complain if you believe an error has been made.

Sitting in my work van, in the new New World carpark and Iโve been getting dirty looks. I get it. My van is halfway into the driving area. Literally. If you look, even from a distance, youโll see my back end is almost hard against the fence, with my towball around the corner of the fence.

If you look, even from a distance, youโll see my back end is almost hard against the fence, with my towball around the corner of the fence.
My work van is over 6m long and the car parks are only about 4.5m. The only spaces I can park out of the way are the nearest and the furthest corners from the door. And that still means parking across another carpark. Today, both those parks were taken.
Now, before you point out that I shouldnโt bring such a big vehicle to the supermarket, 1) why not? Everyone needs to shop; and 2) I drive a retirement village resident passenger van. And they have as much right to shop as anyone.
Okay, so park in the mobility parks. Nope. I donโt have a Mobility decal or placard. And, those parks are the same length as all the others.
So, if you want to get me to stop blocking the way, do the supermarket survey on your receipts and ask for one way driving around the carpark (clockwise is the most logical and safest) and oversized parks. Almost every other supermarket has them. Vehicles are getting bigger, parks arenโt.

Our newly-formed Hawke's Bay Charitable Women's Health Trust is seeking a new treasurer. Comprised of four local women foundation members including a clinical advisor, Rose Gold Trust is focused on delivering positive health outcomes for Hawke's Bay women, particularly in the menopause and midlife space. We're hoping you or your networks may know someone with experience as a treasurer and ideally (but not essentially) having had governance experience. We meet via Zoom once a month and actively work on fundraising events and proposals. Like every trustee, this would be a volunteer position. But it's a great cause and we'd love to know if anyone is keen to join us! Please reply or email me in confidence yvonne@yvonnelorkin.com
