Progress being made on Hastings Municipal Building upgrade
The redevelopment of the Municipal Building in Hastings is progressing with earthquake strengthening work set to be completed by April next year, and planning underway for Stage 2 of the redevelopment.
The building was closed more than five years ago for the strengthening works, and since that time extensive consultation has taken place with the community to determine the future of this heritage facility.
The cost of the work is $5.5m and councillors will be asked to fund the work shortly. Council had been planning a community fundraising programme, but that this was taken off the table because of COVID-19.

Native Plant - Autumn Sale
Our nursery is once again selling native plants grown from locally sourced seeds. They are in wonderful condition and offer excellent value.
The plants cost just $6 each (GST inclusive) and must be pre-ordered and pre-paid.
Pick up is in Havelock North on Saturday 21 March, between 10:30am and 12:30pm.

All proceeds go towards supporting our branch's other conservation projects including Blowhard Bush in the Kaweka Ranges.
Steady As You Go
Interested in joining a strength and balance falls prevention exercise class? Steady As You Go is great strength and balance falls prevention exercise class. Two new classes will be starting on March 16th at the JH Mason Hall (18 Durham Drive, Havelock North). Class will be every Monday and two times are available. Either join the 9:30am class or the 11:00am. Each class is about an hour long and FREE to attend. Registration is essential as numbers are limited. It's also a great opportunity to meet others.
