This one is pretty simple. You're a Neighbourly member so connecting with your community is obviously pretty important to you. So this tip is more of a challenge; this year (or this weekend!) make it your mission to meet someone new living near you.

Here's a few things you can do to get you started:
- use the Neighbours Directory to find neighbours on your street.
- introduce yourself on Neighbourly to those living in your neighbourhood. Just a few words about yourself and what brought you here.
- Give something away or sell something! A Neighbourly exchange gives you a chance to meet someone new.
- just head out the door and knock on someone else's!
______
Remember 86% of Kiwis want to get to know their neighbours better, but just don't see them around much (71%). Take the first step!

Earlier today, Prime Minister Bill English annouced plans to roll out faster internet to more than 150 additional towns all across the country as part of the second phase of the Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) programme.

This means around 423,000 additional New Zealanders in both rural and urban areas, from Kaitaia to Bluff, will have access to world-class broadband

Waikato District Council welcomes the government announcement that it will be rolling out a second wave of ultrafast broadband (UFB) to eight of its growing towns.

At this stage, Te Kowhai is not one of those towns.

The full list of towns benefiting from the upgrade is here:
issues.national.org.nz...

The Te Kowhai Community Group along with the Te Kowhai Broadband Upgrade Team will be getting together soon to discuss plans to get Te Kowhai included in this roll out.

If you are interested in joining the Te Kowhai Broadband Team and you have skills or interests in the subject, please join the Broadband Upgrade Group here on Neighbourly (the group links are to the left) or leave a comment below. Amanda Schaake will be in touch to invite you to the working party.

Change in circumstance means Cous Cous needs to find a new home. She has been a loved member of a family for 5 years.
Already desexed, will be up to date with vaccinations and microchipped before leaving.
Cous Cous would like a quieter life, she wouldn't suit a home with children or bouncy dogs. She has lived urban and is currently living rural.
She has a cute half tail due to an accident with a greyhound when younger.
If you can offer Cous Cous a loving forever home where she can lounge around and be someone's good mate then please PM me and I will assist in rehoming with the current owner.
