Waipā District Libraries is hosting a PechaKucha event featuring children as the speakers.

A PechaKucha presentation is a format that uses slides or images that are displayed for 20 seconds each. The slides move automatically as the presenter is speaking. This format ensures that the speaker is concise, keeps the presentation moving, and gets through all of their content.

We are bringing the 10x20 format to Cambridge for our tamariki to get involved. This means that speakers will talk to 10 slides for 20 seconds each slide. The images are of the tamariki's choosing and the topic can be anything!

We are looking for children aged between 8 and 15 years and a minimum of 10 speakers for the event.

Children can register via their library or online: www.waipalibraries.org.nz....

Children need not be a member of the library and can be from any district.

All children will receive a goody bag for their participation.

The event is currently scheduled for Thursday 29 July at 6pm if the minimum number of speakers can be filled.

We have had a fantastic response to our products and our service over the past six months .

Customers have been inundating us with positive feedback and as word is getting out about Firewood Factory and the level of product and service to match.

What we want to emphasise now is how important it is to buy wood off a reputable operator. We have so many clients who have purchased wood time and time again from a backyard operator and they always get let down, either with wet wood or wood that is filled with debris.

With our wood screening and drying shed we ensure the wood is top quality with the service to match, every time.

If you are in the market for a new pair of curtains or are potentially looking at getting your existing curtains lined, this blog will cover why it is advantageous for you to be lining your curtains, especially this winter.

Insulation: There are many different materials that can be used for the lining of your curtains, and each one can provide a slightly different result in regards to insulation, etc. For instance, polycotton lining (cotton and polyester) is naturally resistant to heat and still allows a good flow of air, making it suitable for warmer environments and even winter as it can provide reasonable insulation.

When simply looking for insulation for the winter period (or if you reside in an area which is typically colder year-round) it may be more beneficial to look at curtain linings such as the blackout and dim lining or thermal lining. Blackout lining is made from a thicker material, and is, therefore, more beneficial for those who are looking for more of a private and insulated lining. This fabric also allows you to keep in all of the heat in the winter period, and keep out the heat in the summer period, due to the sun being blocked out more from the dimmer and thicker fabric. An additional benefit of this is that you will have a difference in the amount of noise that enters our room/house (wherever the lining is applied).

Visually Appealing: Depending on what fabric you decide on, many of the lining options can add to your room. For example, bonded interlining is....
