Then 10 minutes later the same car went … View moreI was shocked yesterday (2 Feb 2019) - I saw a white car going down to the lake and DoC area in Rotokauri and there was a little Australian terrier running behind the car. Today was very hot - our own dogs were lounging in front of a fan to keep them cool. Then 10 minutes later the same car went out onto the road again - and the poor little dog was still running behind the car. Even when the owner got out of the car to shut the gate he never let the poor little fellow back in the car at that stage and it was still running down the road behind the car. I really doubt the intelligence of the owner - if that little dog didn't have heatstroke it must have had torn and scratched paws. Do people not put their brain into gear before they act on their "bright ideas". I would like someone to tell me that the poor little fellow is okay and still alive.

Rugby league super stars Kevin Walters and Glen Lazarus are rallying behind Te Awamutu’s Special Olympics team. The two former Australian internationals have dedicated their time to be guest speakers at the exciting fundraising event.
Proceeds will help offset travelling costs incurred sending Te Awamutu swimming athletes Deshan Walallavita, Portia Johnson and Unity Collins to the World Games in Abu Dhabi in March plus travel expenses for other athletes to attend future events.

The staff gave a very good and detailed explanation. Due to the power outage on tuesday night , the hot water cable are affected.There are 7 generators running and providing the power at the moment and they are working through each generator to fix the cable and once they get the power running , they will turn the power off for half an hour .If after half an hour, if the power doesn't come through, they advised to ring WeL Networks and inform them.For those who have no hot water, they wouldn't know if no one ring them . As I rang them at 8 am today, I am one of the place they will come around to turn on the cable once the generator around my area are fix. They will try to get the hot water going before the end of the day if possible. They will be working through the generator over the weekend too. Thought I share this information to everyone that was affected by the power outage and hot water problems
