Prime Minister splashes $140m cash on West Coast

The Government is splashing cash on the West Coast, announcing $140 million in spending to help create jobs.

Projects announced include:
- $87.46 million for tourism, including protecting the region's popular sites and environments
- $32.8m for extending ultra-fast broadband and mobile coverage
- $10m for a garnet mining project at Ruatapu
- $9.9m for a milk segregation project with Westland Milk Products
