The three-day 2019 Minerals Forum will be held at the Dunedin Centre from Monday and is expected to attract a large number of delegates, police, security and protesters.
The planned protests have prompted organisers to email delegates warning that entry to the forum venue may be disrupted.
About 50,000 primary and secondary teachers will swap their pens for placards after their two unions rejected a series of pay offers. It will affect hundreds of thousands of students in more than 2000 schools.
