A place to remember and celebrate the lives of those no longer with us
Died suddenly on Monday 6th February, 2023 at Palmerston North Hospital, aged 88 years. Best friend and soulmate of the late Barry. Treasured and loving mother of Maryann, Shaun (deceased), Veronica and Owen Cole, Virginia and Lee Johnson, Colleen, and Belinda. Adored and cherished confidante to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A private celebration of Mum’s precious life was held recently as per her wishes. Thank you to all those who gave us much needed love and support. A special thank you to her wonderful neighbours for their support, Bronny and Leo, Paul and family, and Adele and family. She truly treasured you all. Thank you also to the doctors and nurses at Palmerston North Hospital especially Kira (Opal Ward), who lovingly cared for Mum and our family during her most difficult time.
Our mother kept a garden
A garden of the heart
She planted all the good things
That gave our life its start
She turned us to the sunshine
And encouraged us to dream
Fostering and nurturing
The seeds of self esteem
And when the winds and rains came
She protected us enough
But not too much she knew we’d need
To stand up strong and tough
Her constant good example
Always taught us right from wrong
Markers for our pathway
To last our whole life long
We are our mother’s garden
We are her legacy
And hope today she feels the love
Reflected back from us.
