Passed away at Summerset Care Unit, Stoke, on April 21, 2023. Aged 93. Loving wife of the late Peter Malone. Loved sister of Phyllis Shaw (deceased), Margaret Easey (deceased), Mary Sanderson, and Terry Knapp. In accordance with Pat’s wishes, a private cremation has been held. Tony died at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, on April 22, 2023. He was the much loved husband of 52 years to Carole; dear father of Michael, Richard (Megan), David (Mary); and loving and loved Grandpa (Big Tone) of Blake, Luke, Emma, and Owen. Tony’s roots were in Rapahoe, New Zealand; he lived in Auckland and Christchurch while attending university, and began his teaching career at Greymouth High School. He came to Canada in 1968 to teach History and Geography at Central Technical School
in Toronto. He was an active member of TRANZAC, the Leaside Tennis Club, and St. Anselm’s Parish, and participated over the years in many Leaside Community activities with his three sons. He is fondly remembered by his family and his many nieces and nephews in Canada, New Zealand, and the U.K. Tony’s family would like to thank everyone for their support during his final illness. Thanks to all our friends, particularly "the usual suspects," neighbours, the Temmy Later Palliative Care team, the PSW’s who looked after Tony at home, and Sunnybrook Palliative Care. On April 24, 2023 at Christchurch Hospital, Deb passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus, surrounded by her loving family, having fought a courageous and inspirational 9-year battle with bowel cancer, in her 63rd year. Loved wife of Craig, loved Mum and mother-in-law to Thomas and Jenny (Auckland), Grace and Elly (Darfield), Frances (Frankie) and Cain (Timaru), and Hannah and Yuen (Dunedin).
