FLEMING, Douglas Roy (Doug)

(Formerly of Wellington and Rahotu). Passed away at Picton on Thursday, April 27, 2023. Aged 83 years. Dearly loved son of Maurice and Mavis Fleming, and brother of Dorothy Baker, Brian Fleming and Athol Fleming (all deceased). Loved by his nieces and nephews and their children. MAGILL, Robert Patrick (Pat)

Pat passed away peacefully at his home on April 30, surrounded by whanau. Loved husband of the late Catherine, and loving, inspirational father to Jan, Mary-Anne, Rob, John, Tim and Jesma. Devoted Poppa to the late Bailey, Ash, Jerri and Travis Magill, and cherished partner to Helen Lloyd. On Tuesday May 2 Pat’s life and mahi were celebrated with a Hikoi. Departing from his “office on the street” outside The Pie Man in Maraenui, Pat, his whanau, friends and “foot soldiers” were welcomed onto Pukemokimoki Marae 1.1kms away, for a day of tributes and festivities. After spending the night on the marae, a service was held at 11.00am. Pat was accompanied on his journey to a private cremation and a Haakiri followed at the marae. A social justice activist and environmentalist, Pat lived a unique life to the max, full of aroha and a fierce determination to contribute to the community he valued so much. Passed away on Friday 28 April 2023 at Palmerston North Hospital, aged 85 years. Dearly loved husband to Betty, loved father of Tony (deceased) and Peter and Tracey; and Grandad to Sophie. Loved brother and brother-in-law to Joan (Perth), Gary and Karen, Colin (deceased) and Jan. Peacefully at Wesley Care, Christchurch, on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Loved and devoted wife of Stuart, adored and dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Andrea and Keith Whiston (Christchurch), Kerryn, and Jan Gerritsen (Taupo), Brett and Debbie (Budapest), loved Grandma of James and Henry, loved Jude of Jesse and Sam, and loved Mama Jude of Liam and Hannah. Much loved and respected sister and sister-in- law of Peter and Karen Nixon, Heather and Barry Simpson, Lachie Nixon, Kelvin and the late Rhondda Nixon, Jeremy and Vikki Nixon, and loved Aunt of her nephews and nieces. A service to celebrate Judith’s life will be held at the Galloway Community Hall, Fisher Lane, on Monday, May 8, commencing at 11.00am with a cuppa, followed by burial at Alexandra Cemetery. Thank you also to the wonderful staff at Wesley Care and to Dr Lucy Henry who have worked so hard to provide the care and comfort for Judith during this past month.

On 30th April 2023, peacefully at Wellington Hospital after a short illness , in her 84th year. Dearly loved wife of Kevin Kwong Hon, Mum to Nigel & Cecilia, Mitchell & Irene, Serena & David Wong. Grandma to Kimberley and Victoria, and adored Por Por to Thomas and Emily. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday 29 April 2023, aged 94 years. Dearly loved and adored wife of Neil. Loved sister of Dawn. Treasured Mum of Barbara and Tony, Lynette and Paul, and Alison. Loved Nana of Richard, David and Amy, Anna and Megan, Ben, Jason and Mandy. Loved Great-Nana to her 9 great-grandchildren. The family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Kemp Home for their kindness, love and care of June over the 2 years she was there.
