Passed away peacefully on 21st June 2023, aged 88. Dearly loved husband of Jean for 65 years. Loved father of Janet, Mervyn, Christine, and the late Allan. Father-in-law of Murray and Don. Much loved Pop of his 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

LISLE, Irene Hester(nee Rogers)

Passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Kaikoura Rest Home, in her 97th year. Dearly loved mother of Lyn and the late Allan. Loved by her grandchildren Tia, Rana, the late Marina, and Desiree, great-grandchildren Stacey-Brooke, Alar ndra, Cole, Bowie, Korbin, Janae, and Allen, and great-great-grandson Kaycian. A funeral service will be held at St Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Deal St, Kaikoura, on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11.30am, followed by burial at Kaikoura Public Cemetery.

In the care of Southland Hospital on Saturday, June 17, 2023, aged 71 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Rex and loved stepmother of James. A private cremation has been held.

SMITH, Derrell Jean

On June 20, 2023, died peacefully at the Marlborough Hospice, after a brief illness, in her 80th year. Much loved and treasured wife of Brian and former wife of the late Norman Clark. A loved and adored mother of Martin, Anita, and baby Natalia, and mother-in-law of Louise Douglas and John Clelland and grandmother of Samuel; Emma, Gus and Charlie. At Derrell’s request, cremation has taken place with a Memorial Service to be held at the Springlands Chapel, Cloudy Bay Funeral Services, 15 Boyce Street on Monday 26 June at 10.30am. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed on the Cloudy Bay Funeral Services website.
For those wishing to honour Derrell’s love of walking, meet at Burleigh Bridge at 1.00pm for a walk through the olives.

Passed away the evening of Friday, June 16th aged 81. Loved wife of the late Brian and mother of Deborah, Bronwyn and Sarah. Grandmother of Stephen, Libby, Michal, Emily, Sophie, Joseph, Liam, Jakob, Georgia and Harper. Thanks to the staff and board of Hillview for their care and attention over these past, few difficult weeks. STANSFIELD, Jill Edna

On Monday 19 June 2023, Jill passed away peacefully at Wellington Hospital, aged 85 years. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Linda and Carl, Chris and Marian, grandma of Jack, sister of Betty, Pat and the late Bob and devoted supporter of the Kapiti community. Sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at Wellington Hospital and the wonderful staff at Summerset on the Coast. A memorial/celebration of Jill’s life will be held in the Leisure Centre at Summerset on the Coast, 104 Realm Drive, Paraparaumu, on Wednesday 5th July 2023, at 9.30am.

Kathy passed away peacefully at Mary Doyle, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday 16 June 2023. Beloved wife of William (Bill), mum to Rachael, Nicholas, Kate and Richard, mother-in-law to Jared and Sherylene and Nana Kith Kath to her five grandchildren.
