Competenz has recently launched a new micro-credential to improve the level of digital literacy in the manufacturing sector.
"With an aging workforce it’s imperative we enable companies to keep their tradesmen and craftsmen,” says Jahn Vannisselroy, Competenz Sector Manager. “This micro-credential, which we can tailor to a specific company, is giving people the confidence to meet technology head-on.”
The qualification is fully funded under the government’s Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund (TTAF) for employers who enrol their staff before 31 December 2022.

The Maine Coon –one of the country’s most expensive breeds at $2,500 a cat – soared in demand during the Covid-19 lockdown last March.
Enquiries for the “gentle giant” cats increased from 15 to 20 per week to about 20 per day, as Kiwis increasingly searched for ways to spend their money and time around home, one breeder said.
Do you own an expensive cat breed? Let us know below. Pics welcome!

He made this piece during a 1988 sculptors’ symposium organized by well known sculptor Llew Summers. The completed sculptures were displayed around Canterbury and beyond. Dad’s piece was installed on a business property in Mandeville Street here in Christchurch. Out the back and somewhat out of view, it has sat almost forgotten since.
This artwork would look much better enhancing a park or garden. As it depicts a mother sheltering her child our decision is that all proceeds will go to nationwide charity Perinatal Depression and Anxiety Aotearoa or PADA NZ.
Free delivery within Christchurch but you must arrange your own delivery if outside Christchurch. Dimensions are 2m high, 1200mm wide, 1m deep.
