Throwback Thursday: March past
World War II dominated the 1940s. "Our boys" marched through Christchurch before
departing to fight the foe. They were joined by many women who had enlisted in the armed forces to serve in support roles. Here, some of the 549 members of the Women's Service Auxiliary march in a street parade. It is April, 1941. Germany has inflicted a series of defeats
on Allied forces in Europe and Japan is preparing for war in the Pacific. Such parades
boosted patriotism, which helped the military recruitment drive and the raising of money for
the war effort through bonds schemes.
Scam Alert: Bank cold calls
ASB is warning customers about reports of cold calls from scammers claiming to be from ASB. These scammers are trying to obtain personal information, including usernames, dates of birth, and verification codes sent to your mobile phone.
🛡️ The "Caller Check" Test
If you get a call from someone claiming to be from ASB and you’re unsure, just ask them for a Caller Check. You will then be able to verify the call through the app.
Remember, banks will:
❌ Never ask for your banking passwords, PINs, or verification codes
❌ Never need to know your full credit card number – especially the CVC
❌ Never ask you to download software or remotely access your device
❌ Never ask you to purchase gift cards or transfer funds.

Premature theft
Increasing the cost of fuel in anticipation before any actual justification I regard as blatant premeditated theft.
The CEO's who condone this premature theft for their share holders BEFORE they have any justified reasons will not be so quick and prematurely reduce the price when the situation is reduced.
Nor if the situation is quickly restored will they arrange payback if they have over reacted.
