My favourite wine from this year’s New World Wine Awards is Stoneleigh’s Latitude Marlborough Chardonnay. It’s an excellent example of the Chardonnay style that customers are loving: rich, creamy and buttery, and full of stone fruit flavours. It goes well with dishes that have rich sauces like pasta or seafood and chicken. If Chardonnay isn’t your type, then give Lindauer Rosé a go – it’s a bottle of celebration and fun that’s good quality and at a great price.”

Peoples Choice split their vote for community board, wasting 1876 votes. Mr McCluskey missed by 18 votes (100/1). Cr Davidson was re-elected with the lowest council majority (behind newbie Mr McClelland in the outlier Central ward - Deon Swiggs). 1316 more voted against the incumbent Papanui Cr. than for. Once again (as in 2016) the Cr. received less votes than one of the community board members. Innes also polled very low, only 2602 for incumbent Cr Cotter.
Curiously, Papanui remains hotly contested next to the walk-in uncontested or largely uncontested, Wards of Fendalton, Waimairi, Harewood. Why is this so?
