Elusion welcomes 1st year apprentice Jake to the team.

Patrick Koot from Elusion Electrical Ltd

Morena
After sending out our last level 4 update I had completely forgotten to let everyone know we have grown. Patrick has been so busy this year and 5 day weeks became 6 which became 7 so something had to give.

We decided the best way to employ someone and know they would do it the Elusion way was to teach them from the very beginning and take on a "first year apprentice" . Around the time we realised we needed help, Jake phoned us for some work experience, and helped convince us we needed him. We are glad to say he is now Elusion's official first employee .

For our customers security wise, Jake can only work under direct supervision from Patrick so won't turn up without him. You also have the reassurance you will always have our sign written van and team in uniforms to help confirm they are who they are. You can ask at any time also for their electrical registration cards and drivers license for photo ID.

Pip and Otto are loving the extra attention twice a day, Patrick's load is a little lighter and our customers can expect the same high quality service.

If you have any urgent level 4 jobs you won't get to meet Jake he will be back on board in level 3!

Remember under level 4, power, heating and cooking is classed as essential.

Stay warm, stay safe and stay well
Patrick , Shan and Jake

Poll: Canterbury is thriving on paper... but are you seeing evidence of Canterbury's improving economy?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Press, Reserve Bank Governor Anna Breman recently gave a shout-out to our region, calling Canterbury a "stand-out" for how we recover from tough times. With tech firms growing and exporters investing, the business side of things is looking bright!

👉 But we know that "business growth" doesn't always mean the weekly shop gets any cheaper. While the city expands, many families feel like they’re just trying to keep their heads above water.

We want to know: With the business buzz of 2026, do you feel like things are finally looking up for your household, or does it still feel like a climb?
