Christchurch authorities have come up with a plan to stop boy racers revving engines and racing off the line: Don't let them hit red lights.

Council will trial phasing the traffic lights on Bealey Ave so traffic gets a clear run down the length of the street, to reduce noise from things like stopping and accelerating, revving and burn-outs.

Do you think this will stop boy racers from revving loudly? Tell us in the comments below (please write NFP if you don't want your comments published).

Identifying a workplace risk, but not following up to ensure it is controlled is bad health and safety business practice according to WorkSafe.
Another business has been fined for failing to ensure the correct Health & Safety of their staff while at work.
Agility Building Solutions Ltd has been fine $150,000 and has to pay (only) $42,180.04 to the injured painter contractor who fell 2 metres from the scaffolding to the concrete floor. As he landed head first, he suffered multiple fractures to his skull, face and ribs and sustained a major brain trauma as a result of the fall - it was his first day on the job.

Companies are expected to provide the correct safety equipment to all staff and ensure they used them correct.

Contact Paul if you have any issue with the Health & Safety in your company.

A great place to drop into and unwind with the serenity of 15 cats and kittens, after doing your last minute Xmas Shopping in town. Not open on Monday and you might want to go to their facebook page and pre book as I am sure they will be super popular next week.

They also have a lot of Cat Rescue made crafts for cats and humans which make one off/unique last minute presents.

Thanks for reading. All profits from above go to vet bills in this buzy kitten and desexing season.
