Work to install a northbound bus lane on Main North Rd between Winston Ave and Sawyers Arms Rd is nearing an end, Christchurch City Council says.
The work began at the start of this year and has taken longer than the six months originally envisaged due to Covid-19 disruptions.
The new northbound bus lane will be operational from Monday, September 28.
The pre-existing southbound bus lane on Main North Rd, previously used only during the morning peak in traffic, will now also be used during the afternoon peak as well.

The facility, in a quiet Papanui street occupied by just 32 homes, is being remodelled into a boarding house to accommodate up to 75 people aged between 25 and 45.
Residents are vehemently opposed to the 57-room facility and about 25 have written passionate submissions pleading for the boarding house not to be consented.
