Don’t know what your consumer rights are? Consumer Man and Purchase Woman to the rescue!

Meet the consumer heroes, Consumer Man and Purchase Woman. They want to give you tips that you can use to power up your consumer knowledge, and become a confident consumer. They are part of a new campaign from the government’s Consumer Protection team.

You’ll see Consumer Man and Purchase Woman featuring in print and digital ads and on social media with general messages about consumer awareness, as well as advice about specific topics like buying a motor vehicle, understanding the Consumer Guarantees Act and identifying frauds and scams.

You can watch their Faulty Product video.

If you know your rights when buying goods and services, you can be more confident about dealing with any problems that might occur after the sale.

By knowing your consumer rights you can manage tricky situations like :

returning a faulty product
buying online
changing your mind after a door to door sale
If you aren’t sure of your rights (or obligations) when goods or services you’ve paid for aren’t quite right, you can always contact your nearest Citizens Advice Bureau for information and advice.

ANZAC Day commemorations have been held at the Burwood Monument on the corner of Lake Terrace & New Brighton Roads for many years. However after the red zoning of the land around this area, the commemorations stopped.

Together with All Saints Church, New Brighton Road, we are very pleased to say that this year on ANZAC Day, 25 April at 11am a service will once again be held at the Burwood Monument on the corner of Lake Terrace & New Brighton Roads.

We would like to invite you, and any of your colleagues, families or community members to attend this service. Please spread the word and feel free to forward this email and/or flyer on to anyone who you think this service will be of interest. All are welcome!

We have invited representatives from the RSA, local churches, schools, Scouts, Cubs, Guides, Pippins, preschools, community boards, etc to attend. We encourage as many families from our community to attend and would like to see this once again being an annual event.

Please see the attached flyer for details.
