Hi everyone. My family and I are very new to the area and my daughter has just started at Queenspark School on a Monday. This is not actually a school related post, but as I'm not connected to any community groups yet, I thought I would try post on here ...
My short haired black cat Merlin escaped last night. We have only lived here a few days and never on this side of town so I am very worried he is lost somewhere and could be hiding in your garage or gardens.
He is a medium sized, very healthy looking boy with huge green eyes. He is completely black except for a tiny patch of white under his chin which can be hard to see if he's not lifting his head. He is super friendly and quite vocal with a very loud purr, but may be stand offish at first as he is cautious but not scared.
Unfortunately his new collar is sitting on the bench as we didn't put it on him yet, so he is not wearing one.
Please please please if you see a black cat, any black cat around Royal Park Drive / Chadlington street and surrounding areas, give me a call on 0220841341 and I will come and see if it's him.

I know a lot of people say this, but he's more than just a pet, he's my baby and best friend of 9 years and i'm terribly worried about him.
Thanks for your help, and please feel free to share this post if you know of any more suitable pages to post on.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.

Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.

For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.

Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?

We hope this brings a smile!
