Russell Summits One Tree Hill
At 96, Logan Campbell resident Russell Parrish has achieved an incredible feat - ‘knocking off’ the summit of One Tree Hill 30 times over 30 consecutive days - and all for a great cause!
Every single day of September, come rain, shine or blustering gale, Russell set off from his home at Ryman Healthcare’s Greenlane village to walk to the top of the iconic mountain set in the heart of Cornwall Park.
The idea coincided with Ryman Healthcare’s annual Walking for Wellness challenge, which this year aptly had an Everest theme.

Everyone is warmly invited to the annual Buddhist Summer School at 717 New North Road, Mt Albert. The Opening Forum is free to attend on Thursday 23rd January at 6.30 pm. The speakers come from diverse backgrounds including Zen, Tibetan Buddhism, theology, visual arts, and the medical field. The opening forum will include a panel discussion with the speakers, and time for Q&A with the audience. Courses will be run in-person and via Zoom.
