Poll: Light Rail Consultation - any questions?

Programme Coordinator from SPiCE (Sandringham Project in Community Empowerment)

We are wondering if any of you have questions, or would be interested in attending a meeting about the proposed Light Rail project? Community engagement ends at the end of August, and then the Light Rail Establishment Unit will be making a recommendation to the Minister on both the mode (modern tram at street level, or light rail below or above ground) and the route (Sandringham Road or Dominion Road).

It will impact those of us living in the area quite a bit. We are wondering if there is a need to host a meeting about this with the experts so your questions can be answered. What do you think?

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
