We had a cat which we could not let outdoors unsupervised as she had no road sense. In the warm weather we used this hanging from the top of the door so we could keep the door open. When very young grand children came to visit we secured it across the stairs. It could also be used outside to cordon off areas of the garden or gaps in the fence.
