Anatolia - Aotearoa, A Cross Cultural Classical Guitar Concert at Alberton
Mt Albert's local guitar maestro and nationally acclaimed composer Bruce Paine will be playing at Alberton this weekend! In a serene Sunday afternoon concert with Turkish classical guitarist Barkin Sertkaya the two musicians will play music from their homelands.
They will also debut a new piece composed by Paine, commemorating the victims and heroes of Christchurch mosque shootings. The piece starts with tragedy and sadness, transforming gently into a sense of hope and an uplifting of the heart, infusing Middle Eastern harmonies and rhythms with Western. This will certainly be something special and a highlight of the peformance.
Tickets include entry to explore the house and refreshments before the show.
Sunday 15 September, 4pm. Tickets $30. To book contact concert919@brucepaine.co.nz A limited number of tickets are still available!
