Hi there!
Do you or your children need cloth face masks?
My name is Saskia, and I am currently sewing reusable and washable face masks to order. I am a first-year student at Victoria university and got locked in while on a home visit to Auckland. I have sewn and sold masks in previous lockdowns for neighbours as well as a couple of small businesses.
The masks are pleated and adjustable. I can do adult and child sizes, with or without wire, in a range of different colours. I am selling them for $12.50.
I would love to receive more orders for those in the community who are in need of reusable masks now that mask wearing has become mandatory. I am happy to deliver to letterboxes.
Please get in touch if you would like any,
Phone: 027 800 9983

Thanks!

Free Replacement Street Trees

Jeff from Freemans Bay

Probably the last month to request one from Auckland Council for planting this year. You can do it via the website or by phone - both aren’t easy. If your neighbour is missing one mention it to them as they may not be a Neighbourly reader.

A nice story from the last Repair Cafe on K Rd

Wendy from Freemans Bay

Carol fell in love with this vintage cantilevered lamp at an antique shop when she was studying to be a veterinary nurse six years ago. Her mother saw that the bulb flickered and told her to stop using it. It was too dangerous. They tried to take it back but the antique shop had closed. So it … View moreCarol fell in love with this vintage cantilevered lamp at an antique shop when she was studying to be a veterinary nurse six years ago. Her mother saw that the bulb flickered and told her to stop using it. It was too dangerous. They tried to take it back but the antique shop had closed. So it sat there all those years until her mother heard about the Repair Café at Une-Deux through Neighbourly.
Giti, our electronics engineer, found and fixed the faulty wiring not just in the head of the lamp but also in the plug which had a pin missing. So that was replaced too and now the lamp is all safe and sound.
Carol and Giti got to chatting, as you do at a Repair Café, and found out that Giti used to run the lab where Carol sent her samples. That’s another lovely thing about Repair Cafés, they are all about community connection and well as saving stuff from going into landfill.

Une-Deux Cafe at 545 Karangahape Rd holds Repair Cafes on the second Saturday of every month. Hopefully we will be out of lockdown by then. Repair Cafes are supported by DEANZ. doughnuteconomicsnz.com...
