High-risk for COVID-19 complications?

Helen from Point Chevalier

Hi everyone,

Please consider doing this if you are in the high-risk group and have to go out:

Pin a piece of white cloth to your clothing. (You could even write 'At High-Risk' on it to make it clear you are vulnerable, not infected - or part of a cult)

It will alert others to the fact that you are in this group, as I have seen some pretty poor social distancing/not covering when coughing going on.

For all those commenting that people in this group just shouldn't go out, not everyone is able to do this e.g they lack help with things like shopping (I can't even get through to online grocery delivery), they have vital medical appointments, they have children who need some air.

Also, if everyone applied social distancing correctly, then there would be no issue with those of us in the high-risk group having a short, daily walk - a lot of us have already been quite isolated by our conditions well before C-19 showed up.

I fall into this group, yet look healthy, so it's good for people to understand we're not just talking about the obviously elderly - although I think they should do this too. The more people who do this, the sooner others will understand what it means - someone had to wear the first pink ribbons etc.

There are already great people out there 'acting like they have COVID-19' as suggested by our PM. This is a quick, visual reminder, for those who aren't.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS IDEA, PLEASE JUST IGNORE IT. I'M SIMPLY ATTEMPTING TO HELP FELLOW KIWIS IN MY POSITION NEGOTIATE A FRIGHTENING TIME.

REMEMBER, THIS LOCKDOWN COULD EASILY GO ON FOR LONGER, OR GET REINTRODUCED. UNTIL THERE IS A VACCINE, PROBABLY 18 MONTHS AWAY, THIS GROUP WILL REMAIN VULNERABLE EVEN WHEN THE MAJORITY GO BACK TO NORMAL DAILY LIFE .

Take care everyone.

Cheers,

Helen Morgan.

Poll: If we want to reduce speeding, what do you think actually changes driver behaviour? πŸ›»πŸš¨πŸš“

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In the Post's article on speeding penalties, the question is asked whether speeding fines are truly about road safety, or are they just a way to boost revenue for the Crown?

What do you think? Should speeding motorists receive speeding fines or demerit points?

PLEASE PLEASE HELP US FIND SALLY πŸ™- She may be hiding on your property

Candice from Herne Bay

We really need community help!!! We cannot search the area alone. It is day 5 of Sally being missing. We are heartbroken. She WILL be hiding under a deck, in a shed , behind stairs, under a house, behind bushes etc. (Well hidden!)
1. PLEASE think like a tiny very scared dog looking to get as far away to hide as possible and look in those places.
2. PLEASE place a bowl of water and/or food under the house or deck etc. as she may be very weak having not eaten or drunk anything in days. (It may feed a hedgehog or cat but it just could feed and water Sally!)

If you see her call us immediately. Don’t try to get her out or call her as she may try to flee.

Phone 0273277372 or 0273416254.
