Cricket - calling for girls!

Michelle from St Heliers

Cricket is a great game that complements netball - it develops small ball skills and also helps with catching, hand-eye coordination and anticipation. Netball draws to a close in early September. Why not give some thoughts to cricket?

Auckland University Cricket Club is offering a 6 Week Pre Season Softball Academy proudly supported by PlayersSports. Focus is for players to learn basic cricket skills while having lots of fun, and is played using a "soft" cricket ball.

This academy is suitable for girls who are new / fairly new to cricket, years 2-8. We already have a number of girls signed up for the Tuesday group.

Dates:
Group 1: Mondays | 16th Aug - 20th Sept | 4:00pm - 5:00pm or
Group 2: Tuesdays | 16th Aug - 21st Sept | 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Venue: Tamaki Recreation Centre, 60 Elstree Avenue, Glen Innes (ie indoors!)
Cost: $95

All gear is provided by the Club.
Cricket season starts in early November. Games are played on Saturday mornings 8am start. The rules are adapted such that the softball games are done in 1.5 hours.

To register, or if you have any questions, please PM me, or email manager@aucc.co.nz. Visit the Auckland University Cricket Club website for more information www.aucc.co.nz...

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
