Active Whakapapa is a one of a kind experience. Enjoy a leisurely walk and learn about the connection Māori have to the whenua (land) and Taiao (environment) through the sharing of Iwi stories, narratives and history.
Active Whakapapa aims to encourage correct pronunciation of traditional place names and educates about the deeper meaning behind each name. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
