Do you feel like you are always rushing?
Hi Neighbours - If you feel like you are always rushing, that is something Mindfulness can help with. One of my clients says that rush was her constant state before she started practicing mindfulness.
Mindfulness trains us to paying attention to the present moment, with an attitude of ease rather than self-pressure. This protects us from this constant state of feeling we have to be rushing to the next thing. It helps us manage the racing, repetitive, and non-productive thoughts that lead to stress, and cultivate the state of calm that is the antidote to rushing.
Try noticing what is making you rush – it might be interesting!

Poll: Should we be giving the green light to new mining projects? 💰🌲
The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
We want to know: Should mining projects like this move ahead?

Auckland, why are we so excited about a new store? 🚗🛒
I think we’ve all seen the traffic notices and headlines about the new IKEA by now!
So here’s the question: why do we get so excited when a new store opens? Convenience? Curiosity? A reason for a weekend outing? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
Keen for an update? The Post has you covered
Can anyone please help with transporting supplies to the Tokoroa dog shelter?
Hello Neighbours
I’ve collating donations for the SWDC dog shelter (near-expiry food; towels, blankets, plastic beds, toys, etc). There’s enough already to fill a 4-wheel drive or big ute but, at least, a BIG boot full. It would be great to get this to the shelter (esp. the short-dated food) ASAP
If you have spare / unused stretcher beds, plastic dog baskets, bedding, food, metal food bowls, leads, collars, toys, etc which you'd like to donate, please contact me, many thanks
