ENJOYING THE RAIN

Little Treehouse Kindergarten

In Auckland we can see all four seasons in one day. At kindergarten we place high value on the importance of physically active outdoor play and exploration so with this in mind we have invested in some wet weather overalls, rain jackets and gumboots so that children have the opportunity to explore in the outdoors all day irrespective of the weather.

Today the children were initially puzzled as we encouraged their play in the rain and when the rain became heavy their automatic reaction was to run for shelter but it didn't take long for them to embrace this new play opportunity. As the day progressed the children eagerly awaited the rainfall and were thrilled as the puddles grew deeper. The children's songs changed from "rain, rain go away" to "rain, rain come back and play" as the showers came and went.

We are looking forward to more active exploration in the outdoors all day, every day at kindergarten!

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
