ENJOYING AUTUMN
Over the last few weeks autumn has been evident at kindergarten with the loss of the autumn leaves on our kindergarten trees. This morning the pile of leaves was particularly large after the weekend and particularly tempting!
Various groups of children enjoyed gathering and tossing the large piles into the air, enjoying the sprinkle effect on their faces as the petite leaves fell back down. This spontaneous exploration of the seasons was contagious and had most children engaged for quite some time. During this activity children have the opportunity to actively explore with all of their senses as well as investigate theories around trajectory, gravity, coordination and cause and effect. When the fun was drawing to a close we encouraged the children to participate in the tidy up and take responsibility for their play space which they happily did.
We hope our community is enjoying autumn as much at we are!
