Te Wharekura

The Team from Auckland Council

We're thrilled to share the grand opening of Te Wharekura! This 108-year-old heritage kiosk has undergone a remarkable transformation, now reborn as a new cultural and marine education space. 🌟 🎉

This exciting project, which we've developed in partnership with Ngāti Whātua Ōrakei, celebrates tangata whenua and is designed to encourage kōrero about the state of the environment and the cultural richness of Te Waitematā.

Artists: Senior Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei ringatoi, Graham Tipene, Hana Maihi, Jodi-Ann Warbrick, Leah Warbrick, Joanne Maihi and Kororia Witika.
