FIREWORKS
Hi, I am posting this to help anyone who wants to know where they stand relating to the law and fireworks. Sometimes its hard to confront people who are causing a nuisance with fireworks, especially if you are not really sure if the law supports you. So, to make it crystal clear - these are the Auckland Council Bylaws straight from their website.
Where you cannot light fireworks
You CANNOT light fireworks on council-controlled land, such as:
beaches
parks and reserves.
You are ALSO prohibited from lighting fireworks in:
forests
conservation areas
road surfaces, berm or footpath on your street.
So, there you have it guys. If you have had enough of people letting off fireworks in your street, or the playing fields, or the reserve where you live, or in ANY public park, the law is on your side if you make a complaint or ask those involved to cease.
